Maybe not!  The Rhetorical Oracle is an original divinatory oracle deck designed specifically to aid and encourage self-reflection. Sometimes we have all the answers we seek; we only lack the proper question.

After many years in the making, the Rhetorical Oracle is ready to make its debut! The Rhetorical Oracle is a 55-card original divinatory oracle deck that has been dreamt, designed, and developed by Kristen Treacy. This ritualistic spiritual artwork is being brought to fruition through Nor’Eastern Herb Company.

What’s it mean?

A rhetorical question is a question that you ask without expecting an answer. The question might be one that does not have an answer. It might also be one that has an obvious answer but you have asked the question to make a point, to persuade someone, or for literary effect. The Rhetorical Oracle responds to each query with questions, asking the participant to deeply reflect and consider another vantage point. Makes sense, right?

Guidebook

The Rhetorical Oracle offers a guidebook in 2 formats:

  • Digital – a QR code is included in every deck to access the full digital guidebook.
  • Printed – a physical guidebook

Both the digital and printed edition of the guidebook include a directory of card interpretations. This includes each card in numerical order with:

  • A brief definition of each card as shown in italics
  • A complete interpretation of each card in paragraph form

Additionally, the guidebook also includes:

  • An introduction of the Rhetorical Oracle
  • Full index of all cards
  • Inquiry – common questions answered
  • Guiding Questions for Readings – how to form and ask resonate questions
  • Single Card Draw – guidance for single card readings

Product Specifications

  • Rhetorical Oracle Deck: Card dimensions are tarot size; 2.75″ x 4.75″ (70mm x 121mm). S33 Superior Smooth professional standard card stock with blue core (to reduce/eliminate card transparency).
  • Deck Box: Each Rhetorical Oracle Deck comes in a matte laminated custom rigid box with a base and a lid that fit together, keeping the cards perfectly protected.
  • Rhetorical Oracle Digital Guidebook: Digital document with access via QR code/link that is included inside each deck.
  • Rhetorical Oracle Printed Guidebook: Book dimension are 5″x7″. 80lb. satin paper interior with 100lb. satin cover with matte lamination. Staple binding.
